Bernette has written across multiple genres including science fiction, fantasy, light thriller, and self-help since 2016.

Today, Bernette's focus is on writing cozy fantasy (with ensemble romance) books for those of us in midlife about, and providing tools that support, crafting life and love after change.  

She’s a wife, mom, and coffee-drinker who enjoys and supports the performing arts.

Bernette Sherman is a multi-genre author who has written sci-fantasy, fantasy, poetry, and self-help, publishing her first book in 2016. She is also a playwright, with her play Four Wives and a Will being selected and produced for the 2021 SheATL Theater Festival and her play Soil produced for The Blue Series. She’s been a speaker and presenter at Black Writers Weekend, Broadleaf Writers Conference, Atlanta Writers Conference, and Atlanta Writers Club meetings, in addition to sharing her books at other places.

Through her 1-Thing Way framework, she provides a framework to help everyday people and leaders stop the hustle life and instead get results with a sustainable, strategic path made for their real life.

Bernette is also an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor, Precision Nutrition Certified Level 1 Nutrition Coach, active aging specialist, women’s fitness specialist, and former personal trainer.
